Little Big Planet (Gaming – Promotional Campaign and Tutorial Design)
Format: Web, Mobile, Interactive Media
Role: End-to-End Product Design and Development
Sony Interactive Entertainment, a global leader in gaming innovation, engaged my team to design the promotional and tutorial campaign for Little Big Planet, one of PlayStation’s most beloved and creative franchises. The goal was to highlight the game’s whimsical identity and player-driven creativity while simplifying its complex, user-generated gameplay for a broad audience. The campaign needed to be both charming and intuitive, using authentic in-game assets to build excitement and credibility.
I collaborated early with the development team to integrate original game assets directly into the design process, ensuring continuity between gameplay and marketing. My work involved modernizing the visual palette, refining the character presentation, and creating interactive content that showcased the game’s core features—creativity, collaboration, and community. The promotional and tutorial materials were designed to guide new players smoothly into the experience while maintaining the game’s playful tone and handcrafted aesthetic. The creative direction focused on visual storytelling, streamlined UX flows, and accessible design that appealed to players of all ages.
The campaign achieved strong engagement, generating over 10,000 click-to-play interactions across multiple platforms and more than 300,000 registrations for future updates. By blending user experience design with brand storytelling, the initiative set a new standard for how in-game assets could be used to enhance authenticity and audience connection. The result was a campaign that not only amplified anticipation for Little Big Planet but also embodied the creativity and community spirit that defined the franchise.
