Extended Stay America (Hospitality – B2C)
Platforms: Web, Mobile, Native (iOS and Android)
Role: Product Design and Development Delivery
Extended Stay America (ESA), a hospitality brand specializing in long-term accommodations, sought to modernize its digital experience through a mobile-first application that simplified booking and enhanced guest engagement. As Product Design Lead, I directed the full design and delivery process, aligning the new experience with ESA’s refreshed brand identity while ensuring accessibility, usability, and scalability across all digital platforms.
I led user-centered design activities that began with contextual inquiries, user interviews, and behavioral research to understand the needs of long-stay guests. Pain points uncovered in the booking journey guided the creation of personas and journey maps focused on convenience, flexibility, and comfort. I produced low- to high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes that streamlined the booking flow, integrated loyalty rewards, and personalized the experience for repeat guests. All designs adhered to WCAG accessibility standards, ensuring inclusivity for a broad audience. The visual design system extended ESA’s updated brand language while maintaining digital consistency across mobile, web, and native experiences.
The mobile-first approach resulted in a faster, more intuitive booking process and improved guest satisfaction. The app strengthened loyalty engagement and positioned Extended Stay America as a forward-thinking leader in digital hospitality. Modular design principles and an iterative testing framework ensured the platform could evolve easily with future features and brand initiatives. The result was a cohesive, user-centered digital ecosystem that reinforced ESA’s commitment to simplicity, affordability, and care.
